About Financial Advice

How We Work

A lot of people believe that financial advice relates to the purchase of a single product i.e. a pension or life insurance and that one product will solve their problems.

Taylor Withers & Company do not believe that this is the case.

Whilst we are willing to look at one particular area of your financial affairs if this is what you require, this is not the service that we would usually wish to provide.

We believe that in most cases it is important to look at your entire financial situation to allow us to determine, in conjunction with discussions with you, which areas we feel need the most attention.

For example, you may feel that you wish to look at pension planning, when you have no savings or life cover and which may be more important should you have a young family and in fact a balance between life cover, regular savings and pension savings may need to be struck.

Without reviewing your whole situation it is sometimes difficult to see “the wood for the trees”.

Objectives and Planning

A major part of our process is to establish your needs and objectives which would involve discussions relating to your family life, job situation and current financial situation as well as how you feel your future may evolve, in terms of career, children and retirement.  In addition to this, we would also establish your attitude to investment risk and capacity for loss, which when combined with your needs and objectives would be the cornerstone of any advice we provide.

Once we have established a clear picture of these areas then we should be able to provide you with a written plan for you to look at and we can then decide on how you wish to proceed.

Once a plan has been implemented, we would agree an ongoing review, usually held at least annually, when we would either meet in person or have a telephone call / videocall appointment to suit you to review your circumstances and the plans in place to ensure they remained valid.

Financial Review

In the background, we would be monitoring your plans and would contact you at any time should we deem it necessary.  You, of course, would be able to contact us at anytime to discuss your situation or any new issues that may arise.

The idea of this is that we begin what we hope will become a long standing relationship which we hope you will find would be beneficial to you and your family for years to come.
